A Message from the Owners of Maestro Sausage Company
Regarding COVID-19 and Our Evolving COVID-19 Response
As the whole world continues to monitor closely the COVID-19 pandemic, we are doing everything we can possibly do to ensure the safety of our employees and our products during these times. We are implementing any and all safety measures ordered by local authorities, in addition to those recommended to us by our employees and their union, our USDA inspectors, and leaders in our community.
First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage and adopt practices protecting the health of our employees, and therefore our products. As a family business, our employees are part of our family. Our employees are family to each other both in spirit and in many cases literally as we employ siblings and cousins who have worked with each other at our company for decades. More than anything, we care about their health and well-being.
As a USDA facility, Maestro Sausage Company already has numerous procedures, trainings, and controls in place to ensure the sanitary conditions of manufacturing facilities, and our employees.
As a food manufacturing plant, we have always held ourselves to the highest degree of food safety. The expertise and oversight of our USDA inspectors has always been an asset to our company. At their recommendation, long before the executive orders of our state and local municipalities, we provided face coverings to employees, and have increased the frequency of sanitation of frequently touched surfaces such as door-knobs and hand rails throughout our facility. Over the past few weeks, our response has evolved significantly beyond these measures, and we are constantly implementing new procedures to strengthen our ability to work safely.
We actively make ourselves available as a resource to our employees to make sure we understand what they are going through, and to discuss their needs. We provide ample sick time to our employees and encourage them to stay home if they have symptoms, or if they have reason to think they have been exposed. We make sure that our employees are given extra sick time when necessary, and we provide fully-paid medical insurance for them and their entire families.
We are doing everything possible to maintain the same level of service to all of our customers, and the same level of security to all of our long-standing employees.
We thank you for your business that makes this possible, and we wish you the best of health in these unpredictable times.
Sincerely,
The Pontrelli Family
